Vintage Golden Bird Gunmetal Desk Tidy. Measurements are as follows ~ Base 12cm Height to tallest pot 6cm As huge bird lovers, this sweet curiosity was truly love at first sight for us! A golden Japanese Fantail bird adorns this gunmetal dish with small cylinders for pens, stationary or - it’s original intended use was a “Smoker’s Companion” and would have been used for matches and tobacco. Quirky and distinctive, this item was only recently discovered in old shop stock, and was probably imported by a Tobacconist - we believe from Japan, such is its style, although it is not marked as such, which could suggest it was pre-War. As always, we have picked this piece as it would look equally at home in a retro or modern aesthetic. In Excellent vintage condition.
