A lovely blue and white dish made by Booths Pottery decorated with a pretty pattern called Netherlands. The wide bowl has two sweeping handles each decorated. The Netherlands pattern was made from about 1916 onwards. The more common version is coloured whereas the blue and white is rarer. The stamp reads Booths Silicon China, a name given to a thinner and, therefore, lighter weight earthenware. The bowl measures 18cm including the handles, withouth the diameter is 14cm. It measures 8cm high. There a two tiny chips on the base but otherwise the piece is in a good condition without any visible signs of damage. A really lovely piece for serving, styling or flowers. Booths Pottery was founded during the 1850s in Tunstall, Staffordshire.Initally a family enterprise it grew to be a major manufacturer by the turn of the 19th century producing for the domestic market but also for catering companies and shipping lines....more
