A ‘Codan’ chest of four drawers in teak designed by John Herbert c.1963 for Younger Furniture of Great Britain. Younger were renowned for their high quality workmanship and mainly retailed through Heals. Beautiful simple design, constructed from solid teak (except the drawer interiors etc), this is very unusual as most mid century furniture (including danish) were constructed using wood veneers. This very generously proportioned chest of drawers provides a huge amount of very elegant and stylish storage with the signature overhanging top, richly figured teak and contrasting solid afrormosia handles and tapered legs. A removable tray to hold jewellery items or other small personable things is still in the top drawer which is very unusual. In overall fantastic vintage condition, however a significant mark of damage to the top of the chest of drawers. Please review the photos - happy to answer any questions.
