The "Superb Price Kensington Chicken, Egg Holder" is a charming ceramic item that is in excellent condition. It is influenced by the 1970s move away from decoration - and in a nod to minimalism it is atonal cobalt blue. A bright effusive glaze. It does not have any cracks, chips, marks, or repairs. The chicken measures 25.5cm from the beak to the tip of the tail, and it sits on a base that is 21cm long by 16.5cm wide. The base bears the stamp "Price Kensington Made in England" along with the number 3657. The internal glaze of the egg holder exhibits crazing, which is a network of fine lines on the surface that can occur in ceramics due to age. However, this adds to its character and is expected considering its age. I have made an effort to capture this in the provided photos. The pottery manufacturing companies involved in the creation of this item are Price Bros. (Burslem) Ltd and Kensington Pottery Ltd.
