This vintage solid hardwood corner shelf is a unique, useful and decorative storage solution. The whole piece has been gilded in gold leaf then aged and decorated with folk art inspired blackbirds, eggs and a pretty botanical design. The surfaces have been sealed with several layers of lacquer - this will protect the design but care should still be taken, for example standing liquid and harsh chemicals will cause damage. As with all my vintage pieces this has bumps and blemishes that reflect its previous life adding to its character and charm - there are a few little dinks and blemishes in the surfaces of the wood and the joins between the back planks are visible on the right side panel as these have become slightly misaligned over time.
