Holy shell this is a gorgeous item! This stunning (very large!) silver plated shell platter was crafted by Fleuron for the House of Christofle. Fleuron was a renowned metalworker active throughout the mid 20th century. This gorgeous dish is engraved with the words 'Semur-Ciney 1962-1982' - commemorating the twinning of the picturesque town of Semur-en-Auxoir in France and Ciney, a small town in Belgium. Semur is one of my favourite places in France and I found this lovely platter in a gorgeous brocante just down the road from it! This majestic platter is utterly gorgeous, it will make such a statement on a coffee table or sideboard.
