I love these antique hat boxes, in their original state and decorated. This one was in need of something so I gilded it in beautiful copper leaf (which is almost rose gold) and decorated it with William Morris inspired jasmine blossoms and fluffy bumblebees. The whole exterior has been sealed with several layers of lacquer while the original interior has been thoroughly cleaned waxed and polished. It's a unique statement piece, perfect for storing jewellery, crafting materials or just as decorative piece. As with all my antique and vintage pieces this has evidence of its previous life - the main body is in great condition with the original brass handle on top. The lid is a snug fit and doesn't close completely on one side - I've added cooper to blend this in. P&P £15...more
