Vintage Grindley Wild Cherry Dessert Set

A lovely desert set comprising six dishes and a large serving bowl handpainted in a pattern called Wild Cherry. Each is decorated in blue, orange and purple cherries and green leaves. The inside edge of each piece is fluted. The serving bowl has two fluted handles decorated with green. The set was made by the Grindley pottery based in Woodland Street, Tunstall. The stamp on the bottom dates the set to between 1936 and 1954. Each small dish measures 7cm in diameter and 4cm high. The large bowl measures 26cm from handle to handle and 8cm high. There is some yellowing mainly on the reverse which is an indication the set has been used and loved. Otherwise it is in good condition.
