Simeon is a surname, most well known for it's French origins, however most common in the West Indies - and even more specifically Haiti. There are stunning examples of other carvings from the area with the name Simeon carved into the bottom, with 'F, E, and C' - leading us to believe it may be a family of sculptures. This is a striking piece and despite being from the late mid century, is giving us very Art Deco vibes in it's line and subject matter.
