Such a cute picture, by John Strevens or “Strev”. A classic print in the “big eyes” genre, named “Harriet”. A little girl cuddles her kitten. Measures 22.5 x 18.5cm In good vintage condition. The colours are still bright and unfaded. There is inevitably a bit of dust and speckling behind the frame, but nothing significant. **Please do check the photos thoroughly as these form part of the description ** John Strevens was a self taught English artist and illustrator. He first came to public attention in the 1940s, when he exhibited at the Royal Academy. He was greatly influenced by the impressionists and by Victorian portrait painting. He earned renown in the 1960s with his charming kitsch portraits of women, children, flowers and animals.
