Vintage Hopi basket

Vintage Hopi basket with an abstract pattern in a rich earthy palette. A beautiful artisan handcrafted woven basket with a spiral design earthy tones of brown, tan, and aubergine. Made from natural materials, this basket is both decorative and functional, perfect as a wall hanging, fruit bowl, or centerpiece for your table. The Hopi community live on the edge of the ‘Painted desert ‘ in Arizona . I have previously sold one of these baskets and here is some information regarding the history from a member of the Hopi community ‘made using finely split yucca plant. Each coil on top of the next giving it the tight look. The yucca are died with natural dyes.
