A vintage wicker rocking chair, designed by Maria Vinka for IKEA’s PS 2002 collection. The Gullholmen chair has become one of IKEA’s most well known post-2000 designs and it’s easy to see why. Inspired by braided and twisted Banana leaves during a trip to Asia, the chair was designed to be comfortable to sit in and give the appearance of being hand-knitted. In the opinion of the late founder of IKEA Ingvar Kamprad, it was one of the company’s “best looking products”. We don’t disagree! It’s aged really well, and has become a bit of a classic already.
