It was part of IKEA's short-lived high quality range of items which were not designed to be flat packed. Despite being based on Arne Jacobsen's original egg chair design, it's arguably a design classic in it's own right and is already a collectable piece of furniture. It only appeared in the 2008 and 2009 IKEA catalogues.
