For more than 100 years the Bessi family has been sculpting a piece of Volterra history in alabaster. Born in 1857 and will fly from ODC, Cav. Guiseppe Bessi is the illustrious progenitor, esteemed pupil of the Florentine art school. His son Mino continued his sculptor activity by developing his own artistic trend that enriched his father’s patrimony. After the II * World War the Alabastri Bessi collection passes under management to Ghebo Vero Bessi - hid grandson - to arrive intact to the present day. This piece was made under Ghebo Vero Bessi and has some surface scratching, all pictured. Still a magnificent piece with a lot of life left. The alabaster has depth and character with a great vein of black running through the side. The candle stick fits a standard taper.
