A vintage Korean elm & pear wood brass mounted morijang cabinet, the panelled top over two small drawers and two cupboard doors enclosing a paper lined interior with pages of script and within a border of various plain panels Raised on scroll feet, the brass hinges and lock plate of butterfly form. Dimensions : 78 cm high, 94 cm wide x 43 cm deep. Morijang cabinets first came into use in the late 18th century and were used as bedside chests near the mattress in the women's quarter for storing lingerie and small accessories....more
