A vintage printers letterpress tray. Dating from the 1950’s - 1960’s. The tray has been given a light refurbishment. It’s been treated for woodworm as precautionary measure, before being oiled and waxed. The tray consist of one large drawer, sub-divided into 3 sections, each of which is further sub-divided. These would have been used to house hot metal letterpress fonts. The tray is in well used vintage condition. It shows evidence of heavy prolonged usage in an industrial setting. This includes flaking paint, general bowing, wear and tear on the woodwork, as well as some individual squares displaying broken sides. Best described as characterful, rather than pristine.
