Vintage refurbished wooden printers letterpress tray. These would have been used by the print shop to house hot metal letterpress fonts. Dating from the 1950’s - 1960’s. The tray has been given a light refurbishment. It’s been cleaned, oiled and waxed. The tray is in well used vintage condition. It shows evidence of heavy prolonged usage in an industrial setting. This includes flaking paint, wear and tear on the woodwork, as well as some individual squares displaying broken sides. Best described as characterful, rather than pristine. The tray is sub-divided into 3 sections, each of which is further sub-divided. Total of 147 squares. Overall dimensions are height 4cm x width 83cm x depth 36cm.
