This is a lovely vintage framed print of Lowry’s “Going To The Match” (1953) The print is set in a cardboard overlay border within a glass, wood and gold gilt frame The scene depicts crowds of people walking towards Burnden Park Football Stadium, which was the home of Bolton Wanderers, one of the oldest football clubs in England. Lowry’s own home for several decades was located in Pendlebury a suburb of Manchester, which was just a few miles away from Burnden Park.
