Absolutely stunning 1970s bud case by Marianne Cole. It is part of the Australian Outback series and depicts the desert in an abstract array of yellows, ochres, browns and oranges below a brilliant blue sky. The matte glaze and sinuous shape give an elegant and tactile appearance to the piece. The top has gold gilding and the internal surface of the pot is glazed with a gloss cream. The pot is signed on the bottom. This is a genuine vintage item and shows some signs of age. There are some marks/scuffs on the blue the largest of which is 0.5sq.cm. There are also four very small lines on the back (hard to make out). There are no chips or cracks. It measures 17.8cm in height and has a base diameter of 8.2cm....more
