A rare bowl made by Ashworths in a pattern called Pheasant which was usually made in blue and white. The coloured version, which this is, is much more rare. The pattern depicts pheasants sitting amongst peony flowers with the details depicted using yellow, green, red iron and pink. It is stamped on the bottom Mason’s Patent Ironstone China although the bowl was made by Ashworths who bought many of Mason’s moulds and patterns. For its age it is in amazing condition.
