So elegant, this asymmetric boat shaped vase by Crown Derby is a rare example of an undecorated piece. Stamped with the design number A589. Very mid century 1950’s, asymmetric forms such as this were pretty radical at the time. The claret and grey glazes are slightly uneven where they meet at the rim, so I’m supposing this was possibly a reject or second, that didn’t get decorated. I’ve never come across a plain one before, so this is a rarity. Would look perfect as part of an elegant Mid century display. Measures 23.5cm in length....more
