A cosy corner of a homely interior setting, painted in oil in a fairly mellow palette. A candle sits atop a sideboard, with a landscape painting handing above. A further portrait painting and a circular object hang on the wall next to it. To the left, a curtain seems to lead into a corridor or separate room, adding an element of mystery to the painting. There is a nice balance to the composition, with each object depicted seeming to own its space. The palette that the artist used is fairly restrained, with similar colours repeated throughout the composition. The painting is housed in a white and silver frame with a linen lined border.
