A cosy corner of a homely interior setting, painted in oil in a fairly mellow palette. A candle sits atop a sideboard, with a landscape painting handing above. A further portrait painting and a circular object hang on the wall next to it. To the left, a curtain seems to lead into a corridor or separate room, adding an element of mystery to the painting. There is a nice balance to the composition, with each object depicted seeming to own its space.
