A brilliantly done mid century modernist composition in oil, painted onto canvas. Here the artist has played with colour, form and texture. A row of houses have been reduced to flat coloured shapes, and the artist has used a sgraffito (scratching) technique, probably with the back of his paint brush, to create a textural effect that certainly adds depth and interest to the painting. The artist has used a very soothing, pastel colour palette which makes this painting a wonderful point to rest one’s eyes on. The painting is housed in a simple wood frame that suits its style.
