Vintage 1960s Howard Holt stoneware tankard celebrating the famous Commander James Lawrence quote - 'Don't Give Up the Ship' Perfect for a frothy sailor's pint, or a lovely vase with a nautical nod. We love a touch of nautical around the home, and think this beer stein is equally well suited to life as a vase. The blue / green colour of the ship was also pretty irresistible to us! It is exciting to think this design would have started off in Howard Holt's NYC design studio in the 1960s, and the finished piece has somehow made it into our hands in London, all of those years later! As always, we have picked this piece as it would look equally at home in a retro or modern aesthetic. Measurements are as follows ~ 14cm Height, 7.5cm Opening , 8.5cm Base In Excellent Vintage condition - but please be aware that there is one tiny nobble of clay on the handle - which we have tried to capture in our photography.
