Vintage oak free standing book shelves having a decoratively carved top and frieze. The book shelf has five fixed shelves of differing heights. Originally this piece would have been something else ? A bureau but has since been repurposed. It remains a good solid and sturdy piece of furniture. The third shelf in particular has evidence where there would have been hinges to the edge of the shelf and there is some ink staining to the shelf itself. It generally has a great patina and does have some cosmetic marks - but it just adds to its charm! There is a small split to the back left hand side of the book case - but it is sturdy with no movement! See all photographs!
