Adorable little ceramic majolica dish by N.E.M, made in Provence and depicting the traditional cicada and olives of the region. It has a raised section for grating garlic. Could also be used as a pin tray or ashtray. In good vintage condition. Measures 11cm diameter. In Provence, the cicada is a traditional symbol of good luck and health in the home, and majolica cicadas in various forms are popular as housewarming gifts.
