Vintage Repurposed Blanket Box/Storage Box

This listing is for this repurposed vintage storage box, which would originally been a tool box/chest 🔨🔧🪚in the 1950s. The item has since had a good clean up 🫧🧽and some sympathetic restoration to repurpose it. Now that the item has had a good clean out and a new bottom in the box, this gives the item numerous new uses like blanket box, toy box, just a large storage box or it could just go back to its original use of a large tool chest in a garage or shed. It’s multipurpose use makes this a functional and practical piece that could also be used in any room in the home. When I found the item the bottom of the box was all damp and peeling away. My Dad has put a new bottom on the box and managed to salvage many of the old materials like the screws and wood slats and put them back on the bottom of the box. All the screws were cleaned up with some special rust cleaner as they were really rusty. The hinges and clasp have all received a good wire brushing, clean up and been oiled to protect the metal.
