This sweet crinoline lady is handmade from shells - very cute and kitsch! Shell folk art of this type has been popular as souvenirs in British seaside towns since Victorian times. This one was probably made in the 1960s or 70s. It appears that shells have been constructed round an old fashioned wooden “Dolly peg” She’s in good condition, just a small notch out of one of the shells - see the final photo.
