This really unique 1930s tankard mug, made by Lancaster & Sandland, has the most beautiful blue sponge-ware design, featuring simple floral motifs and scallops. Here lies the difference, turn it over and you’ll notice a quirky hidden secret, a large indented base, which interestingly makes its capacity appear much greater than it is reality… we have to admit, we have never seen this before except in old antique pewter tankards! H: 15cm (6") x W: 8.5cm (3.25”) diameter at rim x Base recess: 5cm (2") deep In excellent vintage condition free of notable signs of wear, crazing or damage, appearing to have very little use. 🖤 All our items are genuine pieces of age and are never sold as in new condition.
