Vintage Studio Pottery Decorative Plate, depicting a Kestral. Measurements are as follows ~ 26cm diameter We were instantly drawn to this sensitive illustration of a bird of prey, and the rich green backdrop from which it is etched. It could perhaps be used as a serving plate to add character when entertaining at your dining table - or would make a great addition up on a wall all the year round. The design is by Pamela Price for Beddgelert Pottery, and Snowdonia National Park in Wales. Pamela Price set up her Pottery studio in the early 1970s after working as an artist in her mother's studio, Snowdonia Pottery, also in Beddgelert. This Kestral is signed ‘Hughes’ as the individual artists working in the studio always signed their names in some form. As always, we have picked this piece as it will look equally at home in a retro or modern aesthetic. In very good Vintage Condition - there are no chips or cracks, but the glaze has crazed and there are some minor surface scratches...more
