This is such a fabulous vintage toolbox trunk, full of character and charm. I've transformed it into something fit for the home rather than shed - it would be perfect as a coffee table with the added benefit of useful storage. To retain the original character, the paintwork was gently sanded (and thoroughly cleaned) and given a wash of diluted furniture paint - the exposed woodgrain and lettering on the front is now celebrated. The exterior has been hand painted in a design featuring an explosion of pretty translucent white and gold Japanese anemones and a little bumblebee. Along with thoroughly cleaning the interior it's also been given a wash of paint and several anemones have been painted on the interior of the lid. Sturdy steel legs have been added - these have been aged to blend in with the original metalwork.
