This is one of those rare things we have found, hidden away for a very long time in an Aladdin's cave of a shop in Puglia, Italy! This is made of brass with patination you would expect from something of this age. It has an almost cartoon like face and expression, consistent with other Bosse designs. The coat hook, was designed by famous mid century artist Walter Bosse. Born in Vienna, Austria in 1904, he grew to be one of the most recognisable and influential artists in Central Europe. His designs were often copied and there was a tenuous relationship between Walter Bosse and Herta Baller, where certain designs were made out of contract, forcing Bosse to move his operation to Germany. From our research, this coat hook appears to be an original Walter Bosse design, with the stamp 'Ges Gesch" which translates to 'legally trademarked' or 'registered' in German.
