A lovely example of West Germany pottery from stoneware manufacturers Marzi & Remy. The factory was originally founded in 1879 by Anton Marzi & his brother in law Simon Peter Remy and Initially they produced only blue-grey salt glazed stoneware such as this, before moving onto other designs. Each jug of this style is similar in shape and colour, swelling in the middle with a mottled blue-grey glaze as a base. The cobalt blue patterns on every jug tend to vary in design making the jug unique in its own right. The base of the jug is marked 'MR - WEST GERMANY' - a mark that was used at any time from 1964 - 1990. H: 19cm W: 13.5cm (widest point) 7.5cm (neck) ~~ All items are sold as seen.
