Blown away by the beauty of this piece. It’s was trendy in the 1920s to repaint the used wooden chemist canisters in to decorative pieces. Common themes were fruit and flowers. This one’s got a bright fruit bowl design on the front and lid with a brown background. It’s a nice size 20cm diameter at widest 28cm tall It’s solid but not heavy. Condition wise it’s generally good, however it has some damage to the lid, obviously it came apart at some point and repaired. Plus a small chip on the inside rim and marks to the paintwork (all photographed) However it doesn’t detract from he look or use of this piece....more
