Vintage French carved wooden tray fruit bowl ~ fish shape. 1940s era Here is a stunning old carved and gouged (likely using an adze) bowl or dish in the shape of a stylised fish. I was told this is old hickory wood and that it's French. Folk art, and very striking! it dates from 1930s to 1950s. it's solid but not too heavy with a fantastic used patina - see the photos!! Smoke free home, it's been cleaned with a very mild wood cleaning solution with a light olive oil rub over. Measures approx 42cm length 19cm at widest point will send using Royal Mail tracked service for peace of mind...more
