This lovely vintage oak cabinet has been transformed from its original condition covered in dreary brown varnish into a pretty and unique cabinet. It's been stripped and sanded, then decorated with a gold leaf sun and hand painted waxwings, perched in a willow tree. The gold leaf continues on the decorative edges of the cabinet and the interior has been given a wash of the sage green that features in the leaves of the willow. The gold leaf has been sealed with several layers of lacquer and the beautiful oak has been nourished and sealed with several layers of beeswax. I think the cabinet is a one off handmade piece as I haven't seen anything else like it. As with all my vintage pieces this has bumps and blemishes that reflect its previous life adding to its character and charm - there are small dinks in the oak in a few places but these don't detract from it.
