Wedgewood Olive Green and White Jasperware pin dish. Wedgwood was founded in 1759 by the English potter Josiah Wedgwood. The technique used here is known as Jasperware, a type of pottery first developed by Josiah and distinctive for its unglazed matte "biscuit" finish. The relief decorations, in white, are in their signature neo-classical designs resulting in the classic Wedgwood cameo-effect.
