Trench art has a bit of a reputation for being something that it rarely actually is; and that is actually made in a trench! Dating back to WW1, trench art was made not only by soldiers, but people that also lived around or near conflicts, using used military materials (such as ammunition casings) and other materials to make works of art. They range in a variety of end products, from simple to quite detailed. Judging by whom we got it from, we believe this to be of German origin and likely from the 2nd World War era. Made clearly from a shell casing, with a very deco handle with a gorgeous angle - adding to the pieces interest.
