Still life paintings of cyclamen in a pot inside a vase and surrounded in a lovely and sustantial painted wooden frame. Oil on board. Signed bottom right ‘Hemmant’. Entitled Cyclamen to verso as well as signed and dated. Date is not so clear but starts with the number 19… Condition: Small paint droplets to picture. Scuffs and marks to frame. The painting is in overal good condition never the less. Approximate dimensions including the frame: H:49.6cm W:39.5cm D:4.5cm Biography: LYNETTE HEMMANT spent her childhood in South Wales and Australia, eventually going to St Martin’s School of Art in London shortly before her sixteenth birthday. Until 1979 she combined freelance book illustration with occasional portrait or other commissions. She featured in Best Children’s Books of the Year listings, and her work was used for TV story-telling and schools programmes in the UK and elsewhere....more
