Condition: Very good, very light signs of handling Approx measurements: 15 x 11 inches (38.1 x 27.94cm) History: Taken from an original 1975 first edition issue of Derriere le Miroir. This lithograph was one of 7 new and original works published to accompany a Calder exhibition of twenty of his ‘Crags and Critters’ sculptures at the Maeght Gallery, Paris in 1975. The smiling, slightly menacing three-legged "critter" is an extension of Calder's personality. Neither from the land nor the sea, the critters can hail only from outer space. Even at the late age of Seventy-six Alexander Calder's child-like interest in whimsy and delight remain visible through this particularly wonderful example of the artist's late work....more
