Original Swedish Mid-Century Oil on Canvas Composition "Field and Hills" by "Gunnar Janser (1919-89),- Vintage & Framed Monogram signed GJ, dated -58. Titled and signed in pencil on verso. Dimensions: canvas dimensions approx. 30 x 74 cm, outer dimensions of the frame approx. 32 x 76 cm Condition: Good vintage condition with minor wear, some marks and minor cracking, Gunnar Janser 1919-1989 Gunnar Knut Fredrik Janser was born in Malmö on 17th April 1919. He was a Swedish artist and engineer. A self-taught painter, Janser travelled to France, Italy and Spain. Janser first exhibited at Galerie Acté, Stockholm (1948). Other exhibitions include Galleri Gummeson, Stockholm (1950 and 1952) - Gummeson's Gallery is one of Scandinavia's foremost contemporary art galleries. Launched in 1912 by Carl Gummeson, a local book dealer, it quickly forged a reputation for supporting Modern Art.
