This started life inside a larger box, designed to hold notes and coins, it's now completely reimagined as a little piece of wall art. The interior has been gilded in metal leaf then the tree design has been hand drawn into it, this has been sealed with several layers of lacquer; the exterior has been cleaned and waxed to retain its patina and two brass fixings have been attached to the rear to allow it to be wall mounted. It can be displayed alone or used as a display box to showcase tiny treasures. As with all my vintage pieces this has bumps and blemishes that reflect its previous life adding to its character and charm - there is some wear to the original black paintwork and the bottom hinge on the left door has become detached.
