Gorgeous green candlestick

I believe this to be an early Pre Designer Blenko Art Glass rope twist candlestick from the 1940’s. Hand-made in stunning solid dark green glass, designed for beauty and function, this is a fantastic collectors piece. The wide domed base measures (5½ "/14cm) and the collar which catches the dripping wax measures (4½"/ 12cm). The candle cup measures (1"/2.5cm) and accommodates multiple candle sizes. Total height is (8½"/22cm) and it weighs in at 560g. This is in very good antique condition, there are no chips or cracks, just two very slight grazes (approx 2mm) to the glass that I can spot and have tried to show in the last photo - its hard as they are so small . There are a couple of bubbles in the glass that naturally occur in the manufacturing process. Bill Blenko was among the few first glass designers that launched the studio glass movement of the mid-20th century. This has the iconic Blenko trademark thick glass, bold colour and pontils on the bottom, and there is no makers mark on the base as you would expect of a piece from this period (they used stickers up until 1958).
