Hornsea Pottery, retro Saffron coffee mug. Following the success of the Heirloom range, the Saffron design was introduced by Hornsea in 1970. Designed by John Clappison, it features a distinctive pattern, of caramel-saffron colour circles forming flower motifs on a background of burnt orange. Internally finished in a soft cream colour. The maker’s mark is on the base, and is dated 1977 see last photo showing the base. Dimensions (approx): 9cm high x 8cm diameter (10.5cm incl handle). Lovely condition, no cracks or chips. These are almost 50 years old, so may be some minor scratches and signs of use. We have other Hornsea items available, so please take a look, or message me if you are after something specific.
