Large Hornsea Pottery Saffron ‘Biscuits’ storage jar with original wood lid. Also available are the unnamed and ‘flour’ versions in the large 3lb version. Following the success of the Heirloom range, the Saffron design was introduced by Hornsea in 1970. Designed by John Clappison, it features a distinctive pattern, of caramel-saffron colour circles forming flower motifs on a background of burnt orange. Internally finished in a soft cream colour. Dimensions (approx): Large jar: 19.5cmhigh x 15cm diameter. Other sizes are available in plain, sugar, tea, coffee. DM for other options. Medium jar: 16cm high x 12cm diameter. Small jar: 11cm high x 12cm diameter. Lovely condition, no cracks, or chips. These are almost 50 years old, so may be some minor scratches, crazing and signs of use.
