This gorgeous set was made in the 50s in Taxco, Mexico. A silver mining district and base for the Mexican Modernist movement in Silver and MetalSmithing in the early 1930’s. This sets design is attributed to Los Costello a famous family of silversmiths known for their innovative work based in Taxco and is made of the local silver inserted with abalone. These are great for shots but was originally used for cordial as a palate cleanser between dinner course. you could use similarly for sorbet to cleanse the palate also. These are truly a piece of art. Less rare than the other pieces from this collection, they nonetheless are becoming quite valuable and collectible. The photos don’t go the colouring of the shells justice, as they truly glow. A wonderful addition to a bar, or simply as a beautiful display and conversation piece.
