Mid-Century Oil Landscape by G. Bestard, signed.

Framed vintage oil painting of a Mediterranean landscape by Guillermo Bestard Cànaves. The scene depicts a field of crops or possibly a vineyard in front a mountain and is signed 'G. Bestard' in the bottom right hand corner. Bestard was a Spanish artist (1881-1969) who painted across Europe and in England. This small oil on board probably dates to the mid-20th century and is beautifully framed in a wooden, gilt frame with beige linen mount. The painting has been restrung with new picture cord. The convenient size would fit into any gap of wall space or would also look lovely propped on a shelf or mantlepiece. The rich glowing colours are highly evocative of the Mediterranean but are subtle enough to complement any interior design scheme. Frame size: 22.5cm high, 27.5 cm wide, 3cm deep. Frame opening: 17.5cm wide x 12.5cm high. Free Uk postage. Condition: The painting is in excellent vintage condition. There is a small area of damage to the top left hand corner of the frame which is not obvious when the painting is displayed. Vintage and antique items will show marks commensurate with age.
