This eye-catching pair of early 19th century gothic revival picture frames have been restored and fitted with deep boxes housing a set of vintage plaster intaglios from The Grand Tour series. The decorative frames with gesso moulding have been stained black and have a slim insert rim of time worn gold. There are some losses and repairs to the mouldings which in our opinion add character and authenticity to their great age. We have selected a cotton velvet in a deep blue/black to line the interior of the shadow boxes. This sumptuous velvet contrasts beautifully with the clean white, matt plaster cameos.
