A well-executed oil woodland creek landscape with great tonal qualities. Signed and dated to the reverse. British artist Vita Gollanez, (1926-2009), was a well-respected artist specialising in oils and landscapes. Daughter of noted publisher Victor Gollancz, she studied at the Slade School of Art under Henry Tonks. Starting her career at Sir Hugh Casson’s architectural practice in London, she returned to her painting in the 1960s and exhibited several times at the Royal Academy and Mall Gallery.
